Becky’s First Movie Review: Safe House

Safe House stars Denzel Washington as “Tobin Frost” and Ryan Reynolds as “Matt Weston”. Directed by Daniel Espinosa this movie was quite entertaining. “Safe House” is about a CIA agent, Matt Weston who is thrown into a world where he doesn’t know who he can trust. Tobin Frost enters the safe house that Weston is in charge of and Frost changes everything that Weston knows. Set in South Africa, the movie has a plethora of car chases, gun fights, and explosions that keep the audience wondering what obstacle Weston is going to be put up against next.

Personally, I was most impressed by Reynolds’ performance opposite Washington. I believe that he has really grown as an actor. I think he was getting stuck in comedies at the beginning of his career and between Smoking Aces and now Safe House—two serious roles Reynolds has proven himself to be an exceptional actor. As usual, Washington delivers a great performance.

I would definitely recommend this movie. I’d give it four out of five stars.

I saw another review that did not like this, but I will check this out based on your recommendation. I find you have very good taste and judgement.
